Describe a functional part — a bracket, a duct, a mount — and DesignX generates parametric CAD for it. Parametric means real dimensions you can adjust, not a mesh sculpture: change a bolt spacing and the part updates around it.
Designs export as STL and STEP — files a 3D printer or a machine shop can actually use. The goal is parts that get made and bolted on, not renders that live in a folder.
The configurator and the CAD side feed each other: visualize the direction of the build, then generate the functional pieces that direction needs. Body-referencing parts built against scan geometry are on the roadmap.

No. You describe the part and its constraints, and DesignX generates the parametric model. If you do know CAD, the parametric output means you can refine dimensions instead of starting over.
STL and STEP — the formats 3D printers, CNC shops, and other CAD tools actually consume. The output is meant to be manufactured, not just admired.
Parts are dimension-driven: they're generated from the measurements and constraints you provide, and being parametric, they can be adjusted precisely. Parts referenced directly against scanned body geometry are on the roadmap.
